Head Teacher Appointment

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to update you on leadership arrangements at The Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School.

As you may know, the St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Academies Trust (STCCAT) has been seeking a Headteacher to lead our school on a permanent basis.

I am pleased to inform you that Carmel Dodds, who is currently Headteacher at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Northampton, has been appointed to the position and will join The Good Shepherd in September 2019.

Many of you may know Mrs Dodds from her time as Head of Teaching and Learning here from 2014 to 2016, or as a fellow parent of children who attend our school. This means that she knows The Good Shepherd and our community very well.  I know that Carmel is looking forward to joining the school and will be in touch shortly to introduce herself.

In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Robinson for her tireless commitment to this school and for stepping in as Interim Headteacher and doing such a fantastic job under difficult circumstances. Thanks must also go to Miss Shields, Mrs Hawkes and Mrs Bonner for taking on additional leadership roles during the last 12 months, all of their hard work is greatly appreciated.

Through the passionate support of our community, our dedicated staff and fantastic pupils, the team have made great strides in improving standards here over the past year. There are so many achievements that we can all be proud of and we are looking forward to a bright future ahead.

Warm Regards,

Richard Williams
