World Book Day 2019

Thursday 7th March 2019 was World Book Day! This year, everyone was invited to dress up as their favourite book character and bring along the book their character appears in.

As usual, the children and staff looked fantastic!

World Book Day is a celebration of reading, it is designed to highlight the importance of books to our children. During the day, the children were read stories and also created their own!

Visit www.worldbookday.com for information and ideas of how to get your child excited about reading!

This year, we asked the children to take part in our "Book in a Jar" competition (more information can be found HERE). A BIG thank you to all of those who entered, the entries were amazing!

Father Mark came into school to judge each category, the winners are as follows:

EYFS: Milena Luszczyk “Stickman”

KS1: Olaf Dziekonski “Little Giraffe’s, Big Ideas”

Lower KS2: Nadia Majoch “Spongebob”

Upper KS2: Isabella Tuzzeo “Harry Potter”

The children have won some fantastic books kindly donated by the Friends of Good Shepherd!
